The students entering the existing Building 46 were unable to easily find the Registration Office located on the second floor. In addition, a safer way for students and visitors to be picked up or dropped off also needed to be addressed. Gurrimatute proposed a new design that incorporated changes to the approach to the building, whether by vehicular access or by foot. This included a lighted, metal-clad canopy that directs visitors up the stairs to the Registration Office.
