"Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world."
— Harriet Tubman

Rosanna Rodriguez

Designer

Rosanna Rodriguez’s soft-spoken tone of voice is offset by her unyielding drive. Being one of a few students to land a spot on the International Path to Architecture Licensure (IPAL) program at Florida International University, Rosanna joined the Gurrimatute team as an architectural intern in the IPAL program after being the top candidate pick for this highly coveted internship.

Growing up in the small town of San Pedro de Macoris in the Dominican Republic, Rosanna was mostly exposed to smaller scale buildings and lots of nature. When she moved to Miami at age 13, Rosanna was exposed to Miami’s exciting skyline with multiple skyscrapers and construction cranes balanced against the stunning backdrop of the aqua-blue waters and blue sky. It’s no wonder that she is seriously passionate about sustainability and protecting the environment. A lover of mathematics and design, Rosanna feels she has the ability to positively affect people and their surroundings through architecture and wants to mold her work as an architect to be respectful of the earth, and to always make people feel good in the space she creates.

Away from her books and desk, Rosanna can be found spending time with her loved ones and attending her weekly youth group meetings at her church, where they give back to the community by visiting nursing homes or helping the less privileged. A gifted Alto singer, Rosanna also enjoys the church’s music group where she can express her talent by singing and playing the guitar. Rosanna graduated with her Master of Architecture degree from Florida International University in April 2021.
