Daphne Gurri Color

"The ones who think they are crazy enough to change the world, are the ones who do."

DAPHNE I. GURRI

AIA, RID, LEED AP

PRINCIPAL/OWNER

Whether it’s in the office, at the drawing board, or at the dojo, Daphne is a force to be reckoned with. She’s a passionate overachiever, fiercely determined to rise above her competition. As the founder and Principal/Owner of Gurrimatute, Daphne leads the firm with a level of ambition that can best be described as “against-all-odds.” Try telling her that something can’t possibly be done… and you’ll get a flash of her trademark smile as she envisions eventually proving you wrong.

Inspired by the architect’s ability to influence the built world, Daphne has dedicated the last 30 years of her professional life to architecture and design. When she’s not sharpening her craft within the architectural world, Daphne is ardently committed to teaching and showing young girls that they can kick butt inside and out of the workplace by promoting the opportunities of STEM-careers, and serving as a role model for aspiring architects and engineers.

On her days off, Daphne enjoys her favorite role as a wife and mother of three. Daphne holds a Bachelor’s of Architecture from the University of Miami, and a Master’s Degree in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University in New York. Among her various titles and accolades, Daphne is a Florida-registered architect and interior designer, a LEED AP Design professional, the past/post President of the Society of American Military Engineers’ Miami chapter, past President of the American Institute of Architects’ (AIA) Miami chapter, 2020 AIA Miami Architect of the Year, and currently serves as the AIA Miami State Director.
