×Growing up in Cuba, Angel Tamayo watched his father design and fabricate custom-made wood furniture, doors and windows in his woodworking shop, which created an unquenchable thirst to learn more about design and construction. From designing and building his own wooden spinning tops and baseball bats in Cuba in his dad’s shop, his passion equally grew for computers and anything related to 3D and video gaming here in the United States.
Angel Tamayo accidentally stumbled into the field of architecture when his college guidance counselor placed him in an architectural design class instead of a computer science design class. As it turns out, it was the best “accident” that could have ever happened to him. Angel is a proud graduate from Miami Dade College with an Associate in Arts degree and holds a Masters in Architecture degree from Florida International University.
When he is not at his desk working on a cool project for the office or a design competition, you can find him spending quality time with his son, keeping his wife smiling, and working hard for incremental gains at the gym. Angel also loves spending his time watching sci-fi movies like Avatar, anime, and historic documentaries on Cuba and enjoying a good homemade meal.
