“The trick is to know that one’s true nature lives, as perfect as an unwritten number, everywhere at once across space and time.”
— Richard Bach

Andre Montalvan

AIA, RID, CGC, LEED Green Assoc., CDT, CCCA

Senior Architect

Andre is a Senior Architect with Gurrimatute and has over 31 years of experience as a licensed Architect in the State of Florida. In addition, he is a registered interior designer in the State of Florida, a LEED Green Associate, Certified Construction Contract Administrator, and Certified Document Technologist. Andre holds several degrees including a Bachelor of Art in Architecture from the University of New Mexico, Master of Architecture from University of Oregon, and a Master of Science in Construction Management from Florida International University. Andre is also an active member in the American Institute of Architects, Construction Specifications Institute, and Society of American Military Engineers.

Originally from the borough of Manhattan in New York City, Andre always showed interest in artistic pursuits including sculpting and painting but was also very attracted to engineering. During college he attempted to pursue a dual degree in Art and Engineering but after a couple of years he found Architecture as a compromise between his creative and scientific sides. What he enjoys most about the job is the ability to find solutions to design issues and continually learning.

When Andre isn’t at work, you can find him reading, listening to music from the 50’s and 60’s, or taking on a project when inspiration strikes. Some recent projects include furniture, string instruments, boats, and kayaks. He also finds himself frequently helping his daughters with home additions or finishing-out a hair salon.
