Adolfo Merchand

Adolfo Merchand earned his Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Universidad Intercontinental and brings extensive experience in the healthcare and housing sectors to the Gurri Matute team. Born and raised in Mexico City, his passion for architecture began at an early age through the influence of his father, who is also an architect. Some of his earliest memories include sketching on tracing paper, experimenting with drafting tools, and visiting construction sites with his brothers; experiences that sparked a lifelong appreciation for the design and construction process.

Throughout his career, Adolfo has remained committed to creating meaningful spaces that serve communities. One of his proudest professional accomplishments came while working for Mexico's National Institute of Housing (INVI), where his team was honored with the National Prize for Housing in 2004.

Outside of work, he enjoys reading, particularly horror novels by his favorite author, Anne Rice, and, like any proud native of Mexico City, has a deep appreciation for Mexican cuisine in all its regional varieties.
