Daphne I. Gurri, AIA, LEED AP

Principal/Owner

Whether it’s in the office, at the drawing board or in the dojo, Daphne is a force to be reckoned with. She’s a passionate overachiever, determined to rise above. As the founder and Principal of Gurri Matute, she leads with an against-all-odds ambition. Tell her something can’t be done and you’ll get a flash of her trademark smile when she proves you wrong. Inspired by the ability to influence the built world, Daphne has dedicated the last 26 years of her professional life to architecture and design. When she’s not conquering the architectural world, Daphne is ardent about showing young girls they can kick butt inside and outside the workplace – promoting the opportunities of STEM-careers and serving as a role model for aspiring architects and engineers.

On her days off, when she’s not crushing it at Karate Dojos and Capoeira Rodas, Daphne enjoys her favorite roles as a wife and mother of three. Daphne holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Miami and a Master’s Degree in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University. She is also certified to practice Architecture and Interior Design in the State of Florida.

The ones who think they are crazy enough to change the world, are the ones who do. " -Steve Jobs
